Why Install an Air Source Heat Pump?

An air source heat pump is more efficient because it moves heat rather than generating heat from scratch out of fuel or electricity.
A normal electric heater makes heat directly from electricity, so 1 kWh of electricity gives about 1 kWh of heat. An air source heat pump works like a heat mover. It uses a small amount of electricity to run a compressor and fans that collect heat from the outside air and move it indoors. This allows 1 kWh of electricity to provide around 3–4 kWh of usable heat.
