Internal Wall Insulation

Were you aware that up to 33% of the heat in your home can be lost as a result of insufficient interior wall insulation? In the event that this insulation is no longer functioning as it should, the experts at Lifetime Savings are here to help. Let’s take a look at the process and benefits in greater detail.

The Initial Assessment

Lifetime Savings will first need to carry out an on-site evaluation of your interior wall insulation. This provides us with the ability to provide a targeted solution. Here are some of the variables which will be addressed:

  • A thorough assessment of the location in question.
  • The presence of damp and/or mould.
  • Any possible building regulations.
  • Ventilation issues that might also be present.

Once we have taken a closer look at the insulation between your walls, we will then determine if you are eligible for a government grant.

These programmes are intended to cover the cost of the installation project itself; an obvious concern if you are on a limited budget.

Once the funding is processed, our team will get right to work. And you can join the thousands of homeowners we have helped to receive free energy efficiency measures installed in their properties

The Benefits of Obtaining New Internal Wall Insulation

There are many advantages for you to enjoy. For example, modern internal wall insulation can last for the lifespan of your home.

The Installer will provide you with a 25-year guarantee. As if this guarantee were not enough, it has also been shown that the addition of modern internal insulation can save you up to £200 each year in terms of energy costs.

So, it only stands to reason that determining if you qualify for a grant is important.

Thorough, Transparent and Targeted Solutions

There are several ways in which you may be eligible for government-funded internal wall insulation. Of course, your financial situation will be taken into account.

Are you curious to learn how the team at Lifetime Savings will tackle your internal wall insulation issues?

It makes little sense to put off a internal wall insulation project if you are able to obtain government aid. This is the very same reason property owners have already chosen to work with the experts at Lifetime Savings.

The UK’s insulation grants, such as ECO scheme, are government schemes funded by the UK’s largest utility companies, including the so-called ‘Big Six’. These companies are duly obliged to offer grants that can help those in need to enhance the energy efficiency of their homes for good, without costing you a penny.

The grants available with the ECO3 and Local Authority Flex Funding schemes tend to cover many different types of insulation, depending on your property age and type. This includes cavity wall and loft insulation, as well as first time central heating and boiler replacements.

How is the Boiler Grant free?

New A-rated boiler grants are also offered as part of the ECO scheme, helping households with the opportunity for inefficient boilers to be replaced completely free of charge, or heavily subsidised.

Providing your boiler is more than five-years-old or deemed as faulty and a homeowner, you should be eligible for a new A-rated boiler, installed by Registered GAS SAFE and Governments Licensed & Registered Installer and will come with a guarantee.

For older and more in-efficient properties, grant funding is more likely to cover full costs. If you have a very efficient property, You may need to contribute a small amount to cover the cost of the boiler install this will advised to you before any works are carried out.

How long does installation take?

Most properties can have cavity wall and loft insulation installed in just a few hours, although larger households may require an entire day for installation.

Homeowner information

In order to qualify for any of the available government grants, you will need to prove that you are the legal owner of the property, if renting permission will be required from landlord or managing agent, first and foremost .

Secondly, you will need to be in receipt of at least one of the following benefits:

  • Standard Child Benefit (£20per week)
  • Pension Guarantee Credit
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)

Benefits of internal wall insulation

Internal wall insulation requires the installation of rigid insulation boards fitted to inside wall or building a stud wall with insulation material such as mineral wool fibre.  Here are five key benefits to internal wall insulation that you might be able to receive without having to spend a penny of your hard-earned money:

  • Available for free if you qualify for government ECO or LA FLEX grant schemes
  • Keep more of your property’s heat that is lost through uninsulated walls
  • Maintaining a good temperature for your home offers comfort and health benefits
  • Internal wall insulation helps reduce your property’s carbon footprint
  • Internal wall insulation is quick and simple to retrofit when you choose an approved installer like Lifetime Savings

Cavity walls Vs Solid walls: What’s the difference?

  • Properties built after the 1920s typically have cavity walls. The cavity is the gap created by two walls of brick.
  • Older properties built circa pre-1920s most commonly have solid brick or stone walls with no cavity.

Typically, properties built up to 2002 and beyond will already have cavity wall insulation, but properties older than that are unlikely to have cavity wall insulation whatsoever.

Properties built with solid wall have two options of either external wall insulation or internal wall insulation. Our professional team will be able to advise you at time of survey what is best for your home.
