What is the ECO scheme?

The ECO scheme is a government scheme adminstered by OFGEM. It is designed to help reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty across the country.

Is my local authority or council also involved?

Although funding does not come directly from your local council, you can still qualify for ECO through your local council’s LA flexibility arrangement.

Where does the funding come from?

Funding through the ECO scheme is provided by large utility companies that have an obligation by law to pay for this type of work.

What is the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible you must be in receipt of certain qualifying benefits; living on a low income and in home with high heating costs and/or you are vunerable to the effects of living in a cold home.

Do i have to repay any of the funding or grant money?

There is no requirement to repay any of the funding you receive under any of the schemes.

Is there any cost to me?

Our aim is to provide all work carried out under the scheme free of charge.

I live in a rented property, am i still eligible?

You do not need to own your home to be eligible for ECO, although some measures under both schemes are restricted to homeowners only. Contact us for more information.
