Why is Loft Insulation so important?

As we all know… heat rises. This means you can lose around 30% of your heating through your non-insulated roof area.

Loft insulation is effective by creating a thermal barrier that prevents rising hot air escaping through your roof.
The air pockets within the loft insulation trap the hot air, preventing it from being lost into the atmosphere.

The optimum depth of blanket-style loft insulation required for your home is 300mm (12 inches). This ensures
the lowest possible heat loss for your property through its roof.  It’s important to remember that your loft must have ventilation so we always recommend a professional installer to complete the project.

Pipe insulation, tank jackets, loft hatch draft-proofing are all additional measures considered by your energy surveyor at time of your survey.  All government funded installs comes with a guarantee and workmanship certificate.
